OT: Thought I was a goner (again)? Well I just had some problems with my comp, namely Windows Vista.
I forgot all my bookmarks and you. Sorry for that, but there doesn't seem to be any ....things going on huh?

Not at the moment sadly. We are hoping it would pick up nearer release date.

"Vista"
Here's your problem
Well, I have it too. It's fine on a higher end computer provided you aren't a douche about certain aspects (like leaving UAC on, leaving your RAM cached all the time, and trying to install things on it )
I hate my life

In my humble opinion...the problem with Vista is the idea of it:
> Shiny stuff
> Flashy stuff
> Moving stuff
> Stealing-valuable-processing power-from-your-computer stuff

Well yes. Most of it is useful stuff but then again a lot of it isn't, but that's things you can go without. Things like Aero.
Personally I can't wait for MinWin. Apparently the entire GUI from the OS shuts off when you're running a full screen program, somewhat like a console OS like the PS3's. But the real thing about it is that it's only something like 50mb, and apparently has a fairly basic GUI.
Personally I don't see why they don't just use .png files for the GUI instead of .bmp with color-read transparency. .png's native transparency support means that to make a semi-transparent GUI the only thing that really needs to be cached is the images, and they can then be layered to reduce the RAM usage. Whereas Aero, in doing the same thing, can use up to 300mb RAM on its own.
This is really off-topic. We should stop now.

By the way, I would like to remind some people that Finland is a bilingual country (I'm looking at you, Sweden...).
