There's actually a lore question I've been meaning to find the answer to: Why did Malekith have all the male sorcerors killed?

Without lookin up: This is what i just recall He was afraid! He was the one and only Witch king.. he was afraid the other male sorcerers would challenge his possition as reagent... So he got them 'off the way', so he was one and alone of the power... Ofc (i think) he diden't kill the female, because he dident count them as a real challenge... The argument against this is his mother, Morathi, which is realy powerful. He probably wouldent underestimate her power. There are even theories that it's Morathi who are pulling the strings Hope that was sattisfying! -Griker

Now that I looked through my answer, I'm embarrased. He got them killed because according to a prophecy he's going to get killed by a sorcerer. :P
